About Orders

How do I place an order?

Please click "Add to cart" on the product page and proceed to checkout from the cart screen.

Confirm your order details, shipping information, and payment method, then finalize your order. After your order is complete, a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address.

What payment methods are available?

The following payment methods are available:

  • Credit Card
  • Shop Pay
  • PayPal
  • Google Pay
  • Bank Transfer
If paying by bank transfer, please make the payment within 3 days of your order. If payment is not confirmed within the deadline, your order will be automatically canceled. Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the customer.
I'm looking for a specific book. Can I consult with you?

Yes. Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for a particular book. While we may not be able to provide it immediately, we will review your request and respond to the best of our ability.

About Shipping

How long does it take to ship?

After payment confirmation, we usually ship within a few days. While we try to ship as quickly as possible, we operate alongside our used bookstore business, so it may take a little longer.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary depending on the shipping method and destination.

  • Domestic Shipping: Approximately 1-3 days after shipping
  • International Airmail: Approximately 1-3 weeks after shipping
  • International Surface Mail: Approximately 2-4 months after shipping

Delivery times may vary due to weather, customs, and postal conditions in each country.

My surface mail tracking information isn't updating.

For surface mail, tracking information may not be updated for several weeks to months after departing Japan.

This is normal because tracking information is not reflected while the package is being transported by sea.

In most cases, tracking information will update again when the package arrives at an exchange office or customs in the destination country.

Especially for surface mail to Australia, Europe, and North America, tracking information may not update for more than 1-2 months, but this is not unusual.
Where can I check shipping methods and fees?

Shipping methods and fees are automatically calculated at checkout based on your order and destination.

For domestic shipping, we primarily use Yu-Pack and Click Post. We will ship by the most appropriate method depending on the product size and weight.

Can I specify a delivery date and time?

Delivery date and time can only be specified for standard shipping. If you have a preference, please write your desired date and time in the notes section when placing your order.

Please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on the shipping method and region.

Do you offer international shipping?

Bunbuku offers international shipping. Available shipping methods and fees vary depending on the destination country/region.

If a tracking number is available after shipping, we will notify you by email.

Customs duties, import taxes, customs clearance fees, etc., if any, are the responsibility of the customer.

In addition, if additional costs different from the usual occur due to changes in international circumstances or trade policies of each country, we may contact you before shipping and ask you to bear the difference.

If you do not agree to bear the cost, we will cancel your order and issue a refund.
Can you deliver to my hotel or accommodation in Japan?

Yes. For those visiting Japan from overseas, we can deliver to your hotel or accommodation during your stay.

If you wish to do so, please provide your hotel name, address, phone number, and period of stay.

If there is a long period between your order and your arrival in Japan, or if you have concerns about the delivery timing, please consult us in advance.

About Product Condition

How can I check the condition of used products?

Bunbuku primarily deals in used books. There may be scuffs, tanning, minor scratches, and dirt due to age.

We describe the product condition on the product page as much as possible. The condition rating is for reference only, so please contact us before ordering if you have any concerns.

As new, or in a very good condition similar to new. Almost no signs of use.
【9】Excellent
Minor signs of use, but overall in very clean condition. No noticeable scratches or dirt.
【8】Excellent to Good+
Close to excellent condition, but may have slight signs of use or minor scratches/dirt. Overall in good condition.
【7】Good+
Relatively good condition. Minor scratches and dirt from use, but no noticeable damage.
【6】Good+ to Good
Close to good condition, but better than good. Shows general signs of use, with accompanying scratches and dirt.
【5】Good
Typical used condition. May show signs of use, scratches, dirt, and fading. Still perfectly usable.
【4】Good to Fair-
More significant signs of use than good condition, and scratches and dirt may be noticeable.
【3】Fair-
Shows considerable signs of use, with noticeable scratches, dirt, and fading.
【2】Damaged
In a state with some defects, such as missing parts, detached pages, tears, or writing. Please check the product page for details.
【1】As Is
In a state with significant damage or defects. Intended for research or archival purposes.

About Returns and Cancellations

Can I return or cancel my order?

Due to the nature of used books, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience.

If you receive a product different from your order or if there is significant damage not described in the product description, please contact us within 7 days of receiving the product.
