Domestic Shipping Policy (Japan)

0. Domestic Shipping within Japan

All orders are shipped from Tokyo to addresses within Japan.
We use Japan Post for domestic delivery.

Shipping fees are set at a flat rate depending on the shipping method.
For postal delivery (Click Post), shipping is determined not only by weight but also by weight and the carrier’s size regulations.

Please note that some art books may be lightweight but large in format.
If a package exceeds the size limits for postal delivery, it will be shipped via standard delivery.

We take great care in packaging to ensure your books arrive safely.


1. Order Processing

Orders are typically shipped within 3–5 business days after confirmation.
We do not ship on weekends or Japanese public holidays.

Shipping may be delayed in the following cases:

  • During art book fairs or special events

  • When stock confirmation is required

  • During periods of high order volume

A tracking number will be sent by email once your order has been shipped.


2. Shipping Fees

Postal Delivery (Click Post)

(Under 1kg and within size regulations)

Standard Delivery (Yu-Pack)

¥850

Free Shipping

Free shipping is available for orders totaling ¥22,000 or more per transaction.


3. Shipping Methods

  • Click Post (mailbox delivery, no insurance)

  • Yu-Pack (in-person delivery, insured)

The shipping method is selected by our store based on the size and weight of the items.


4. Estimated Delivery Time

Orders typically arrive within 1–3 days after shipment.

Please note:

  • Delivery may be delayed due to weather, traffic conditions, or natural disasters.

  • Specific delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.


5. Incorrect Address / Unclaimed Packages

Packages will be returned to us in the following cases:

  • Incorrect address

  • Missing building name or apartment number

  • Long-term absence

  • Refusal to accept delivery

If a package is returned:

  • Additional shipping fees will be required for reshipment.

  • In case of refund, round-trip shipping costs and payment processing fees will be deducted.


6. Damage or Loss

For Yu-Pack shipments, compensation is handled within the coverage limits of Japan Post.
Click Post shipments are not insured.

We are not responsible for theft or loss after delivery to the mailbox.


7. Returns & Shipping Issues

Cancellations due solely to shipping delays will not be accepted.
If you receive a defective or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.


International Shipping Policy

1. Order Processing

All orders are processed within 3–5 business days after payment confirmation.
Orders are not shipped on weekends or Japanese public holidays.
During peak seasons or unforeseen circumstances, shipping may be delayed.


2. Shipping Methods

International orders are shipped via Japan Post:

  • EMS

  • Registered Airmail

  • International Parcel

  • Surface Mail

The shipping method is automatically selected based on destination and package weight.


3. Estimated Delivery Times

EMS: 3–7 business days
Airmail: 1–3 weeks
Surface Mail: 1–3 months

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to customs clearance or local postal conditions.


🇪🇺 EU Customers – VAT & Import Duties

Since July 1, 2021, the European Union requires VAT on all imported goods.

IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop)

If VAT is collected at checkout under the IOSS system, customers should not be charged additional VAT upon delivery.
However, customs handling fees may still apply depending on the destination country.

If VAT is not collected at checkout:

VAT, customs duties, and handling fees will be charged upon delivery.
These charges are the responsibility of the customer.

We are not responsible for delays caused by customs procedures.


🇫🇷 Important Notice for Customers in France

Due to French customs regulations and La Poste processing procedures, the following may occur:

  • Parcels may be temporarily held at customs.

  • A handling fee (frais de gestion) may be charged by the carrier.

  • Tracking updates may pause during customs inspection.

If a parcel is marked as:

  • “Returned from import Customs”

  • “En attente de dédouanement”

Please contact La Poste directly with your tracking number for clarification.

Failure to pay customs charges may result in the parcel being returned to Japan.
In such cases, reshipping costs must be paid by the customer.


4. Customs, Duties & Taxes (Outside EU)

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees imposed by their country.


5. Tracking Information

Tracking numbers will be sent by email once your order has shipped.

Please allow time for tracking updates, especially for surface mail shipments.


6. Incorrect Address / Unclaimed Packages

If a parcel is returned due to:

  • Incorrect address

  • Failure to claim

  • Refusal to pay customs charges

Reshipping fees will be charged before re-dispatch.


7. Lost or Delayed Shipments

We are not liable for delays caused by:

  • Customs inspections

  • Postal disruptions

  • Force majeure events

Surface mail may show no tracking updates for extended periods while in transit by sea.
