The exhibition catalog "Shinro Ohtake Exhibition: Newnew" by Shinro Ohtake. This official catalog was published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name held at the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art in 2013, focusing solely on new, recent, and unreleased works. Along with "Okusoku" and "Megane" which were presented in the Setouchi region around the same time, it garnered attention as a publication that allows one to experience Shinro Ohtake's prolific creative activities.

The great appeal of this book lies in its bold binding design, which goes beyond that of a typical catalog. It consists of eight large sheets, three booklets of different sizes, and a DVD containing exhibition footage, all bound together with paper fasteners. The act of viewing itself connects directly to the experience of the artwork. The sheets include large-scale installations such as "Mon Cherie: Self-Portrait as a Scrap Hut," with powerful poster-like illustrations on the front and detailed views and documentation on the back.

The booklet section features a wide range of expressions, including collages, drawings, and oil paintings. It allows readers to re-experience Ohtake's thoughts and techniques, where paintings, sculptures, scraps, and fragments of memory freely come and go, in multiple formats. The editing is also impressive, giving a sense of the scale and chaos of the exhibition space that can be brought home.

Rather than simply turning pages, this catalog is read by disassembling, spreading out, and reassembling. It can be enjoyed as both an art book and a reference material, allowing one to experience Shinro Ohtake's energy and expansiveness firsthand.
